Dr. Samantha Dapcic (UNT D.M.A. 2019) leads this empowering workshop for graduate students who are writing—or will be writing—dissertations. M.M. and G.A.C. students considering doctoral studies are encouraged to attend.

From the beginning stages to final steps, this comprehensive session will provide essential tools for large research papers, including strategies on:

Audition Prep

The Exchange team joins with the UNT College of Music and guest presenters, Dr. Allen Hightower and Dr. Jessica Nápoles, to present an audition workshop designed for high school juniors and seniors considering a music major in vocal studies at UNT. The three-hour workshop includes sample auditions with feedback from the faculty, information about music degree programs in vocal studies at UNT, scholarship information, audition repertoire choices, and the opportunity to attend a UNT Opera rehearsal.

A Musician’s Guide to a Sustainable Career

The Exchange team and guest presenters brought decades of expertise as performers, educators, arts administrators, and in parallel careers to this empowering workshop.

The Singing Entrepreneur

The team presented its second workshop, The Singing Entrepreneur, which focused on equipping singers ​for real careers in today's evolving arts economy. This single-day online workshop was led by NTX Vocal Arts Exchange core faculty and special guests, including Nick Petrella and Andy Heise from Arts Entrepreneurship Podcast: Making Art Work and operatic soprano Alexandra Loutsion, and Edward Rothmel, collaborative pianist.

Virtual Audition Workshop

The team presented its inaugural workshop, equipping singers ​for recorded auditions in the unique 2020-21 audition season and beyond. This single-day, online workshop was led by NTX Vocal Arts core faculty and guest panelists, for singers from pre-collegiate to emerging professionals.
